Dear Hygain Customers,
Regrettably, Hygain has made the difficult decision to stop supplying the US market and to close our US entity.
Hygain is very proud of having established an exceptional customer reputation in the USA market with a growing presence in the premium segment over the past five years. Barns all over the country now successfully feed their champion horses with our products. This has been a marvelous extension of our business in Australia, which feeds the world’s leading racehorses alongside Australian leaders in equestrian pursuits and breeding.
Hygain currently supplies the US market from our production facility in Melbourne, Australia. The significant freight costs involved in this operation have risen substantially in recent times.
In 2023, Hygain commenced looking for a US partner to take the business forward. Essentially, to be viable in the long term, the business would require manufacturing and distributing locally in the United States.
Unfortunately, despite an extensive search process and discussions with multiple parties, we have not been successful in finding an US partner to advance the business.
This means that we will have to wind down our US business. Inventory of products will remain available in the US in the short term but will start to deplete rapidly from late March.
The Hygain leadership and ownership team would like to thank all stakeholders for the support and collaboration over the past 5 years. We would also like to thank our amazing sales and support team in the US who have helped us grow an incredible presence in the premium end of the equine nutrition market.
We are proud of what we have built together, and we are extremely disappointed to have to withdraw from the market.
Please note that this decision does NOT affect the Arenus Animal Health business, which has been sold separately to Revival Animal Health, nor does it impact the Hygain / Mitavite business in Australia or any other export market of the business.
